Poker Evolver for free

New version is out with 3-bet features, enjoy and gain the edge. And the next version is already under development of course :)

For those who do not own Poker Evolver yet, there is now a great way to get it for free. Click here for more information.

Arrival of 3-bet

Good news! 3-bet% and fold to 3-bet% stats are now almost ready. I have actually already played myself with these stats and I think they are really helpful at many pre-flop situations. These stats will be soon available so you can tell your opinion. Possibility to customize HUD is ready too (see the screenshot below) and will also be available soon.

Poker Evolver HUD configuration

There has been some uncertainty so I would like to remind that new features/updates are absolutely free to our old customers. Poker Evolver will update itself fully free and  automatically on startup when new updates are available.

Get ready for the 3-bet

Moving forward
The new version of Poker Evolver is now ready and under testing. It contains the features I mentioned in the last post as well as some optimizations that have also been made. It will be released soon.

While the new version is under testing, the next version is already under development too. Because 3-bet stats have been asked quite often, we will now add some of those. The stats will probably be:

  • 3-bet% at pre-flop
  • fold to 3-bet% at pre-flop.

Some other features will also be added, like the possibility to select what stats are shown in the HUD.

About 3-betting
3-betting means third bet/raise action on a street. On pre-flop this means a re-raise after the first raise. On later streets 3-betting means a re-raise after a bet and a raise.

When 3-bet stats are useful? Imagine that you are playing 6-handed No-Limit Hold’em from the big blind. All other players have folded and the player on the button raises. Small blind folds. You have A9o, what should you do?

You look at the statistics of the raiser. His pre-flop raise% is 35% and his fold to 3-bet% is 75%. You should now re-raise (3-bet) because the player on the button raises too much and will fold most of his hands. When he doesn’t fold you can be almost sure that he has a very strong hand.

Home of Doyle Brunson

There’s an interesting video on Card Player’s site where you can see how it looks like in the home of the legendary Doyle Brunson. Video can be found here.

Spicing up the bankroll management

In the next version of Poker Evolver the most visible upgrade will be a new feature to Bankroll Management: money transfers. This means that when you for example withdraw money from your PokerStars account, you can easily update bankroll management of PE to match your real world situation. It will be easier to track how big your poker bankroll actually is and where your money currently lies. Especially for those who play at multiple poker rooms, or who change poker rooms often, this will be a nice feature to have.

The money transfer dialog will look something like this:

Before, I personally used an excel sheet to track how much and when I had deposited/withdrawn, but I got eventually tired of doing it the hard way. It is however important to keep track of your bankroll in some way because bankroll management is one of those important skills you must have if you want to move up in limits. I want to do BRM as easily as possible and so do many others and that’s why we put effort into improving money management features of Poker Evolver. The more time you have for playing poker, the more you can win.
