Here are some tips which will help to write a good bug report.
Why should I read this?
The faster the Poker Evolver developers understand the problem, the faster it will be fixed and all benefit from it.
Elements of good bug report:
1. Bug description (What happened?)
Write a description what is the actual problem.
2. Steps to reproduce the bug (How do you make the bug happen?)
Please describe as accurately as possible what were you doing when the problem occured and how it can be reproduced. If we are unable to reproduce the problem, it is very hard to fix it.
3. Supporting evidence (Log files, hand histories, screen shots etc.)
Sometimes it is good to send supporting material with a bug report. Nobody expects that there is files with every bug report but remember that the more information you can provide the better!
- Log files are very helpful for Poker Evolver developers in many situations, especially with crash bugs. Log files can be found from logs directory under Poker Evolver installation directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\Poker Evolver\logs).
- Hand history files are required to fix the problem if you are unable to import a certain hand.
- Screenshots can also be good at certain type of problems (graphics errors for example).
Additional files can be sent directly to support( at )pokerevolver.com since this forum does not support attachments. Please add a link to the e-mail that points to the forum thread concerning the bug if there is such thread. |
