I have a lot of suggestions, but due to lack of time today I will start small and suggest just one for starters. There is a lot of fair to good software available and so far I like where I see this software going. I'm not exactly sure what the ultimate goal is for the end product, but I don't understand why no one has tried to include the ultimate package for poker players. I have seen so many get bits and pieces right, but they could go a lot further. I'm hoping that Poker Evolver is able to put in all the features I want, because it seems like every piece of software that I buy or demo always has one or two things lacking to make it complete. So, after that lengthy discourse , I have laid the foundation for my first suggestion and what I believe are many to come.
I am hoping that you will add a pot odds calculator. Almost every poker software has one, but they all seem to want to do it a different way, instead of just having all the different ways in one calculator. For example, I would like to see the implied odds and true odds at the same time side by side, along with a winning percentage calculation, and a pot odds percentage, and the pot odds given as an x-1 formula, and what the probability is of an opponent holding a certain hand such as a straight, flush, etc.
Well, time to go. _________________ Steve Badger: “Wanting everything is the quickest way to having nothing that I know.” |

Thank you for sharing your idea of a complete pot odds calculator. We have also ideas on what kind of pot odds calculator would be most useful to our users and this is something we'd like to offer as a part of Poker Evolver.
But before giving out any details at least I'd like to hear more comments on this topic to get an idea of how important people feel this feature is and to what extent it should be taken.
Should there be figures enough to bury your cards or would you do without most of them? |

Hi all,
Pot odds would be a nice feature, but I am just wondering about Loris' suggestion concerning implied odds. Isn't this something that is fully opponent dependant or do you just mean the ratio between current pot and opponents remaining stack?
Eventually it is really hard to derive any waterproof formulas on opponents behaviour unless you really have a significant amount of samples and a decent way to predict opponents behaviour.
my 2 cents. |
